This service returns empty FIA 'Multifret' twin intermodal flat wagons used to transport steel for export in billet form from Tata Steels Scunthorpe complex on South Humberside in Lincolnshire (see Andy Pictons photo www.flickr.com/photos/98929239@N03/14032630236/in/photost...) to a freight yard at Ebange in Eastern France via Dollands Moor and Calais Fréthun through the Channel Tunnel. Laurent Knop photographed Euro Cargo Rail's loco number E 186-317 at Valenciennes (Nord - department 59) hauling loaded wagons working from Calais Fréthun to Ebange on 2 April 2014 (www.flickr.com/photos/x4644/13687214105/in/photolist-mRux...). Once in Ebange the steel is used at Tata's Hayange rail mill to produce rail for SNCF's LGV Est européenne construction programme to extend the French high-speed rail network. 66119 was hauling a total of 26 DB Schenker (with EWS branding) FIA 'Multifret' twin intermodal flat wagons arranged in 13 pairs 12 of which were identified as 33 70 4938 306 6, 31 70 4938 301 9, 31 70 4938 514 7, 31 70 4938 012-2, 31 70 4938 091-6, 33 70 4938 725 7, 31 70 4938 032-0, 33 70 4938 508 7, 33 70 4938 307 4, 31 70 4938 739 0, 33 70 4938 733 1, 31 70 4938 029-6, it not being possible to identify the last pair of wagons the number appearing to have been removed (www.flickr.com/photos/99279135@N05/14008635033/in/photost...). 66119 was built by General Motors EMD, London, Ontario, Canada in 1999 and unloaded from the Heavy Lift Ship MV "Gajah Borneo" at Newport Docks on 20 June 1999. |
