Português: Distinção Notícia do ter sido nomeado oficial da Academia de Belas Artes de Paris o pintor Adolfo Rodrigues (1867-1908). Adolfo de Sousa Rodrigues (Funchal, 13 jan. 1867; Lisboa, 9 mar. 1908). Tirou o curso da Academia de Belas Artes, com altas classificações, tendo-se dedicado à pintura histórica, sob orientação de José Ferreira Chaves (1838-1899) e conseguindo bolsa para se especializar em Paris, trabalhando nos ateliers de Jean Paul Laurens (1838-1921) e Benjamin Constant (1845-1902). No 2.º ano do curso em Lisboa já tinha alcançado o prémio Anunciação, vindo a ser depois distinguido, em Lisboa, no Grémio Artístico, em 1895, com a terceira medalha. Pintou Agostinho de Ornelas e Vasconcelos (1836-1901), hoje na coleção dos descendentes, em Paris e o rei D. Carlos (1863-1908), nas coleções da Câmara Municipal do Funchal, uma alegoria à História no teto da entrada do Museu Militar de Lisboa, etc., tendo as palmas da Academia de França e a ordem de Isabel, a Católica, de Espanha. |
