Pasadena, the Crown of the Valley, one of the loveliest towns on the PacificCoast, is situated in the northwest corner of the San Gabriel Valley, at the base ofthe Sierra Madre mountains. It is 900 feet above the sea, which is twenty-five milesdistant, and about nine miles from Los Angeles. Many pleasant little excursions may be taken from Los Angeles or Pasadena topoints of interest in the vicinity. One of these is the ascent of Echo Mountain bythe Pacific Electric Railway.
