Hermann Simon (1867 - 1947) war Ärztlicher Direktor der Provinzialheilanstalt Gütersloh. Er machte die Arbeitstherapie zum essentiellen Bestand der Behandlung von psychiatrischen Patienten. Die Erfolge der Arbeitstherapie in Gütersloh hatten Vorbildfunktion für die Anstaltspsychiatrie insgesamt.
