| Description |
English: Belgian historical locomotive 5404 (former 204.004), as seen in Marbehan on 2008-08-05, while SNCB celebrates 150 years of line 162 Namur - Luxelbourg. The type 204 / 54 series is a small series of 8 diesel locomotives derived from the 52 series, but with higher maximal speed, for long running (international) passenger traffic. Opposites to the rest of this series, this loc hasn't been transformed with new "floating cabs", and was repainted in original green livery (and numbering 204.004) in 1988. It is preserved by SNCB since 2000. A full maintenance was done in 2007, including renumbering as 5404 , which is supposed to be more conform with the 5 projectors on the front side.
Français : La locomotive historique 5404 (ancienne 204.004), photographiée lors de l'expo des 150 ans de la ligne 162 à Marbehan le 05/08/2008. Le type 204 / série 54 est une petite série de 8 locomotives dérivée de la série 52, et offrant une vitesse commerciale supérieure afin de tracter des trains grandes lignes et internationaux. Contrairement au reste de la série, cette machine n'a pas été dotée de cabines flottantes, en vue de sa présentation en état original. Elle fut donc repeinte en 1988 et reçut à cette occasion le numéro d'époque 204.004. Depuis 2000, elle est versée au patrimoine historique de la SNCB, et a été rénovée en 2007, à l'occasion de laquelle elle reçut à nouveau le matricule 5404, censé mieux correspondre à la configuration "à 5 feux" des faces frontales |
