Description
Deutsch: Rauchwarengroßhandel Otto Franke, Frankfurt am Main, Niddastraße 66-68, 4. Stock. Zum 50. Jubiläum am 20. August 1973.
Otto Franke und Sohn Gert.
Am 20. August 1923 machte sich Otto Franke in Leipzig mit einem Geschäft in der Nicolaistraße selbständig. Gelernt hatte er in der Rauchwarengroßhandlung F. Knappe in Hamburg-Bergedorf. Als die Verhältnisse in der DDR immer schwieriger wurden flüchtete unter Zurücklassung des Warenlagers nach Geismar bei Göttingen. Als sich in den 1950er Jahren in Frankfurt ein neues Pelzzentrum bildete, zog er nach dort in die Niddastraße in die derzeitigen Räume. Seit einigen Jahren hatte er sich auf südamerikanische Felle spezialisiert, insbesondere Peludos, Borregos, Buenos und Persianer-Lincoln. In dem Familienbetrieb arbeiteten die Ehefrau und der Sohn Gert.
