Description
English: In addition to normal combat operations while on a combined sweep operation in Binh Duong Province approximately 20 miles north of Saigon, RVN elements of the 173rd Airborne Brigade (Separate) conducted intensive civic action and PSYWAR Activities in the area. In this photo, SP5 Jesse Ikei, (Honolulu, Hawaii), machine gunner, 501st Aviation Battalion, keeps a close watch on the area during a PSYWAR broadcast and leaflet drop in support of combat operations. A specially equipped helicopter UH-1D was used for these missions. NARA 111-CCV-632-CC32154
