4D0330. Sandstone spindle whorl.
Description
English: Possible cut stone spindlewhorl. A sub circular, thick disc of stone with a small central hole. The hole is straight sided and 5mm in diameter. It has been roughly cut from a piece of hard red sandstone, most likely from the Quantock Hills in Somerset (identification provided by Dennis Parsons, Keeper of Natural History, Somerset County Museums Service). There are several plough scrapes on the surface of the object.
