English: AWM caption : Informal group portrait of members of No. 460 (Lancaster) Squadron RAAF in the Station Officers' Mess at RAF Station Binbrook, Lincolnshire, England.

Identified from left to right:

  • 412810 Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) James Robert Henderson DFC of Mosman, NSW
  • 418589 Flying Officer (FO) John Charles Thomson DFM of Melbourne, Victoria
  • 420582 FO John Joseph McDade of Sydney, NSW (later awarded DFC)
  • 412011 Flight Lieutenant Hedley George Johnson, (later awarded DFC) of Sydney (centre) throwing darts
  • Pilot Officer D Easton, RAF
  • 408800 FO Charles Thomas Crook DFC (later awarded bar to DFC) of Bairnsdale, Victoria
during a game with Sqn Ldr Henderson DFC (on far left) who is a Flight Commander in the Squadron and was at one time the pilot of the famous "G for George" Lancaster which is now on display at the Australian War Memorial.
