Summary

[edit]
Description 45 West 12th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City is a Greek Revival townhouse built in 1846. Although not apparent from the front, the building is triangular in shape, as the east wall slants back towards the west wall. It was built in this manner because at the time, Minetta Brook ran above ground east of the lot, and the house roughly paralled the course of the brook. The house is located within the Greenwich Village Historic District. (Source: "NYCLPC Greenwich Village Historic District Designation Report, volume 1")
