| Description |
Henry Ford's son Edsel had a prototype car built in this color combination, and drove it around to gauge the reaction of his wealthy friends and acquaintances. Based on their enthusiastic responses, the Lincoln Continental went into production for the 1940 model year. '40 and '41 were the cream of the crop; for 1942, it received a heavy, ungainly front end which it kept through the end of production in '48. |
