Description
Français : Tourcoing — Les Halles.
Construite en lieu et place du château du Bailly de 1878 à 1880 sous la direction de Louis Le Blan*, l'édifice se veut un symbole de la modernité urbaine prônée par la Municipalité et Charles Roussel-Defontaines, maire de la Ville de 1857 à 1879.
En 1912 sous le dessin d'Eugène Pagnerre**, l'édifice change de destination pour devenir sous le direction de A.Picot, le complexe L’Hippodrome avec salles de cinéma et de spectacle qui fermera en 1935. → Timbre : Semeuse camée 5c vert.→ https://www.francephilatelie.com/les-semi-modernes/semeuse-n-134-au-n-142
