Description
English: Sailors from Fleet Activities Yokosuka and local community members carry a Japanese mikoshi during the 36th annual Yokosuka City Mikoshi parade. In Shinto Buddhism a mikoshi is a vehicle to transport a deity between a main shrine and a temporary shrine during a festival or when moving to a new shrine. The U.S. Navy has a 237-year heritage of defending freedom and projecting and protecting U.S. interests around the globe. Join the conversation on social media using #warfighting.
