- The pine tree is from the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 91st Division.
- The fleur-de-lis represents the service in France, the lion the service in Belgium and the bear the allocation of the Regiment to California.
- Crest: The crest is that of the U.S. Army Reserve.

- It was redesignated for the 362nd Regiment (Training) on 1962-01-26.
