Summary
[edit]Description353005 Renfe TalgoIII - Estacion de Merida - Phil Richards.jpg |
English: Class 353 Talgo loco no. 353.005 "Virgen de la Bien Aparecida" at Mérida on 19 April 1997 working train 190, 08:00 Madrid Atocha to Badajoz.
5 of these locos were built by Krauss-Maffei with Maybach engines and transmission in 1968/9. As with other similar classes had matching livery with the Talgo III stock as seen behind. With expansion of electrified and high speed lines, the work load for these diesel locos was reduced. Final examples were withdrawn in 2003 and the example seen here was preserved at the railway museum in Vilanova near Barcelona. |
