Description Panama City, Florida. 12 miles from Tyndall Field. One of several photos in the Tyndall Target (April 8, 1944) in an article titled "Pinch Me, I must be dreaming". Caption is: "Free phone call home courtesy of the USO". Top gunners in the class received two day tour of Panama City at he expense of Dixie-Sherman (room and meals), $5 from Steadman Hobbs (president of the local transit company), several rounds of golf and lunch at the Panama Country Club, the "works" at the Post Barber Shop, cleaning and pressing service courtesy of the Post cleaners, soda fountain drinks of their choice at Walgreens, Childs, Johnsons, Adams or Daffins Drug Store.
