| Description | retro Uploadr 2006- A954SAE is a Leyland Olympian with Roe bodywork, one of 75 Leyland Olympians purchased for operation in and around its home city. Seen in 2006 shortly after entering preservation and repaint into original NBC green livery, this Leyland is seen moving into position at the Harbourside rally on May 21st 2006. This Leyland Olympian was built at the Leyland (British Leyland Motor Corporation) factory in Brislington - the Leyland Olympian was designed by Leyland as a replacement for aging types using many design elements from the Leyland Titan. Leyland produced these buses at three production plants, one of which was a recent addition to the Leyland family. There were 9 Leyland B45 prototype vehicles built in late 1979 and 1980, these were followed by over 5,500 production Leyland Olympians of which A954SAE is a typical example. Leyland. |
