Description
English: 330-PS-9227: A Defense Department cameraman perched atop the amphitheater, Arlington National, cemetery, made this striking photograph of an Army sentry walking his post at the tomb of America’s Unknown Serviceman. The remains of the hero of the Korean Conflict, left, and World War II, right, were reinterred at Arlington on Memorial Day, May 30, 1958, flaking the tomb of the Unknown Soldier of World War I. Men assigned to the guard are members of the Army’s historic Third Infantry. Photograph released November 5, 1958. (10/28/2014).
