Description 330-PSA-292-60 (USN 710830): Naval Officers who are in command, or who have held command of ships or fleet aircraft squadrons, are authorized to wear this distinguishing device, called the command-at-sea insignia. Unit commanders, including air group commanders of active commissioned ships or aviation squadrons, are also eligible to wear the device. It will be work on the right breast by those presently in command, and on the left breast by those who have held command. Photograph released December 2, 1960. Note, substandard image but here for information purposes. (9/15/15).
