| Description | 330-PS-230 (37744ACa): This pliable bottle of polyethylene can take a horrific beating and literally bounce back undamaged. Its skin will stay securely confined within the bottle throughout the roughest flight. USAF, Air Material Command’s Material Laboratory’s work is to eliminate the hazards involved in transporting acids in glass bottles. For surface shipment the glass containers are safe enough, but air transportation is more strenuous. The container shown here was designed to hold battery electrolyte for spare aircraft batteries, but polyethylene containers and bottles of various sizes are also specified for use when transporting other acids by air.
