Seed Catalogue and Garden Guide. PORTULACA, Grandiflora Single Mixed.âThis old favorite is brightest in the 3iot, dry weather, when other flowers are drooping. They are of almost every â conceivable shade of color, and will make one of the brightest spots in the garden, large flowered. Pkt. 3c. Separate Colors.âScarlet, Rose, Yellow, White and Striped, each per pkt. 5c. These can be used to make beautiful ribbon beds for edging walks and drives. Double Mixed.âVery handsome, double as a rose, and contains a color and shading unknown in the single. Our seed is extra choice and will produce sixty to seventy-five per cent of double flowers. Pkt. 10c. RICINUS, Cambogiensis.âThis beautiful plant grows to a height of 8 feet, and of most stately majestic tropical appearance Large palm-like leaves of darkest reddish maroon, covered with a bright bronzy lustre, while the main stalk and leaf stems are ebony black. Seed will always be scarce and high. Pkt. of ten seeds 10c. ZanzibarensisâGrows to a height of 12 to 14 feet, with leaves two to nearly four feet across. A handsome specimen plant for lawns. Pkt. 5c. Sanguineus TricolorâBlood red stalk; very attractive. Pkt. 5c. Common.âPkt. 3c, oz. 10c. All Varieties MixedâPkt. 4c. SALPIGLOSSIS, New Variveinedâ Much larger than the common Salpiglos- sis. The surface is soft and velvety and the wealth of color marvelous. The col- ors range from pure white to dark yellow, dark red and purplish black, with all the shades between beautifully veined and mottled; blooms all summer and until severe frost. Pkt. 8c. Fine Mixed.âA nice mixture of the older sorts. Pkt. 5c. SALVIA, Splendens.âOne of the most brilliant of flowers; it thrives in any light, rich soil; often called flowering sage- Free bloomers. A brilliant scarlet. Very fine. One of the most satisfactory of all bedding plants. Pkt. 10c. STOCKS, Large Flowering Dwarf German.âSometimes called Gilliflowers. These popular flowers are easily grown, and are so fragrant, of such great beauty and have so many good qualities that they deserve a place in every garden. They should be given good, rich soil to grow in. Mixed colors. Pkt. 5c. PRINCESS ALICEâPerpetual White.âOf strong growth.fine branching habit, and, if sown early, wilt bloom f rOm May until November. Flowers very large and pure white, and the more often they are cut the better they like it. Deliciously fragrant. Pkt. 10c. SWEET WILLIAM, Giant Double Mixed.âHardy plants about one foot high, of extreme richness and variety of color, and also deliciously sweet scented; for clumps or borders no plant can surpass this old favorite. Pkt. 8c. Single Varieties Mixed.âThe old favorite. Pkt, 5c. TORENIA, Fournieriâ Beautiful free flowering, trailing plants, well suited for baskets, vases, and in moist situations out of doors. A handsome plant, but not hardy. Pkt. 10c. WILD CUCUMBER.âThe quickest climber known for covering verandas, old trees and houses, trellises, etc., never suffering from the heat, but retaining its fresh and lively green color; never infested with insects, and very profuse in Ibloomer. Pkt. 10c. WISTARIA.âOne of the most popular hardy vines climbing to a height of fifty feet or more. It is perennial and easily grown from seed. Of luxuriant and rapid growth, bearing in the spring immense panicles of purple flowers produced in .great profusion. Pkt. 10c. FREESIA.âPeculiar white flower of delicious fragrance. Pkt. 6c. G0DETIA, Mixed VarietiesâVery pretty large flowers. Pkt. 5c. HIBISCUS, Crimson Eye.âBeautiful white flowers 20 inches around. Pkt. 7c. Golden Bowl.âLarge canary yellow flowers with black center.
