Description
English: 32 Baggott Street (Upper), Dublin. The glory of a Dublin Georgian doorway. This was the home of the lawyer Edward Mayne 1791-1878 and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of William Henn, Master in Chancery (1793). Edward was the second son of Judge Edward Mayne 943640.

The judge's fourth son was the barrister Sir Richard Mayne 1796-1868, who became the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police on its formation in 1829 - a job he held until his death nearly thirty years later. Sir Richard's bio at
