| Description |
English: This house belongs to Mr. Ramesh Mayenkar. His family moved into the house in 1940, together with two other families: Ramesh’s uncle, Mr. Vaman Mayekar, his wife Tara and their child Neela; Ramesh’s cousin brother, Shreepad, his wife Laxami and their daughter Suneeta and Ramesh’s mother Savitri, along with her four children; Sunder, Prabhakar, Purushottam and Ramesh. The two former families, however, left for Goregaon in 1944, and for Goa in 1945 respectively. Ramesh married Sharmila in 1965, they had tree children: Salil, Sachin and Shilpa. They lives in Bhopal till 1976, due to Ramesh’s job, which entailed transfers of residence. Ramesh warmly recalls his childhood days in the house. The hall used to be his favourite place as there was a study table in the corner on which he has completed his entire studies. They used to sleep there too, as due to the large family, the never had bedrooms for themselves when they were young. |
