| Description | retro Uploadr 2008- A960THW was new to Bristol Omnibus and was one of 75 Roe bodied Leyland Olympians purchased by this operator. Seen in 2008 still with First Bristol and having brought down the curtain on 26 years of Roe bodied Olympian working in Bristol just minutes earlier. 9560 was the last survivor of the type which gave Bristol longer service than any other decker, it had worn cherished 'plate PSU630 for several years before reverting to A960THW for the final few weeks. On February 9th 2008 it was intended that this bus would work one final all-day board on the 70 from Centre to UWE as an unofficial farewell but after the first complete journey the bells wouldn't stop sounding and the bus was taken off service, a rather unfitting end to such a long career. |
