Description |
English: Grey gravestone, with inscription, in a cemetery, with other gravestones also visible. Gras and leaves can also be seen. Granite grave marker for Jeremiah Fowler (JF) who died (D) on November the Fourteen Day of 1724. Town population was still small enough, perhaps 350, that initials were sufficient. While crude to he modern eye, this is actually a good carving effort, given the tools available in a small town, and is likely made by a skilled craftsman, perhaps the town blacksmith.
