Title
2 Medieval strap fittings
Description
English: 2 Medieval strap fittings or harness fittings, both with integral narrowed loop and two straight ended flat ends secured by a pair of dome headed rivets: length 38mm, width 10mm, gap between ends 1mm; gilt, 45mm, width 11.5mm, 2mm gap between ends partly filled with textile remains. Such objects are normally associated with the straps and reins of bridles (Biddle 1990, 1044, and fig. 334 nos. 3895 and 3897, both iron). The presence of textile in one is problematic. Probably 12th or 13th century.
