English: Probability of fixation versus generation time/population size. The diagram is based on 3 outcomes per a haploid locus, passage of 0, 1 or 2 alleles at frequency of 0.25, .5 and .25 frequencies respectively. Generations used for the example = 10 and median fixation time in generations was 20.7 generations, following the 2N rule (see wikipedia coalesence theory) the plot is modeled after Box3 panel b in Schaffner.
