Description
English: Spc. Joseph Haggerty (left), a signal support systems specialist with the Virginia Army National Guard’s Fort Belvoir-based 29th Infantry Division, briefs Brig. Gen. Timothy E. Gowen, the 29th ID deputy commanding general- Maryland, during Gowen’s visit to the South Carolina Vigilant Guard exercise March 9, 2015, in Georgetown, S.C. The 29th ID Soldiers are operating a Joint Incident Site Communication Capability, providing internet access and telephone support in the field for the 2,000 Soldiers, Airmen and civilians participating in the exercise, including National Guard units from Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. Vigilant Guard is a series of federally funded disaster-response drills conducted by National Guard units working with federal, state and local emergency management agencies and first responders.
