Title
28 pottery sherds
Description
English: 28 sherds of unglazed earthenware pottery. The fabrics are patchily reduced and oxidised, varying from dark grey, through pale grey and buff to orange red. All are tempered with a coarse and poorly sorted mix of abundant fine and rounded quartz sand together with moderate flint and calcareous stone pieces (including occasional fossil shell). The temper pieces are up to 5 mm in size. There are three base sherds, all flat. There are six rim sherds; three beaded, one flat-topped, one everted with and internal bead and one plain, rounded and cupped rim. The remaining 19 are undiagnostic body sherds. All are from hand made vessels, probably jars. All are abraded.
