Title
288 edge trimed blade dorsal.JPG
Description
English: Edge trimmed blade
   Mesolithic-Neolithic
Length 50mm, width 28mm, thickness 10mm

The are two arrises that run halfway down the centre of the dorsal before splitting turning into three arrises for the remaining half. On the ventral the striking platform at the top is slight and there is little evidence for the bulb of percussion. The last two thirds of the blade on the left has been extensively re-touched using pressure flaking, mainly from the ventral side. Most of the blade on the right side has been re-touched using pressure flaking from the dorsal side, quarter of the way down the blade there is a notch (4mm wide), knapped from both sides.

Creamy patina which darkens to a speckled blue at either end.

a similar example was found at Hazleton North and was dated to the Mesolithic (Saville, 1990, 160-161).
