Description
Français : Mahalon : le lavoir de Stang Irvin. Ce lavoir de village était autrefois le lieu de rencontre des femmes où pouvaient s’échanger des nouvelles. La tradition voulait que l’on fasse deux grandes lessives dans l’année, au printemps et à l’automne. Une grande lessive durait trois jours. Le linge était bouilli dans les lessiveuses puis apporté dans des paniers ou des brouettes aux lavandières qui le rinçaient et le frappaient à coup de battoir. Les lavandières entretenaient elles-mêmes leur lavoir avec soin. A l’occasion, le lavoir était aussi un lieu de baignade pour les enfants des alentours.
