2756 Roman figurine of Mars
Description
English: Cast copper alloy figurine of Mars length 32mm, width 13mm, thickness 16mm, weight 11.54g. Bust and shoulders of a male, which is depicted with a beard and curly hair, the detail for the face has been worn. The figure is wearing a corinthian helm, this has curvilinear decoration on the side and a high crest running from the top and down the back. The shoulders are Cuirassed. The rear of the shoulders are flat and there the remains of a lead alloy where it was soldered onto a larger artefact. date 1st-3rd century.
