Description

Balkans Rail Trip, Autumn 2013 - Day Five

710.010 at Niš on 27 September 2013 having arrived on train 2701, 04:00 Prahovo Pristanište to Niš.

Niš is the second largest town in Serbia and an important railway junction . The station was rebuilt after the original was destroyed during World War 2. As such the station is reminiscent of many others in Central Europe, being featureless structures constructed with concrete. The ticket hall is particularly large and along with the long platforms looks very underused with today's level of passenger traffic.
