Description

Bulgaria Trip Day Four.

As a direct result of the unreliability of Desiro DMUs, two branches in the Plovdiv area have been reguarly hauled in 2012. One such line is the 77km long line to Panagyurishte which reguarly sees hauled trains comprised of usually 2-ex DB/DR coaches pulled by a class 07.

91 Class 07s were built for BDZ from 1971. Similar to class 230 (DB, previously class 130 under DR) built by the October Revolution Workshops in the USSR. 07s were never built with train heating and as such have run round with heating vans on passenger trains. However, some such as this one seen here have been fitted with ETH equipment. Consequently they were renumbered by to 071xx.

Having run round its train of 2 former DR coaches, 07123 is waiting to depart on train 81205, 16:30 Panagyurishte to Plovdiv on 27 September 2012.
