Deutsch: Infotafel Steinway Trail am ehemaligen Bahndamm oberhalb der Innerstetalsperre. Der Text auf der Tafel lautet: „Gründung von Steinway & Sons: Im Jahre 1853 gründete Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg mit seinen Söhnen die Firma Steinway & Sons. Ihre unterschiedlichen Talente führten zu einem beispiellosen Erfolg. Die Söhne Theodor und Heinrich jun. revolutionierten den Klavierbau. Durch ihre zahlreichen Patente und mit ihren höchsten Qualitätsansprüchen gelten sie als.Schöpfer des „Steinway-Systems“. Wilhelm hingegen war für das Marketing zuständig. Da ein amerikanischer Name ein besseres Geschäft versprach, änderte die Familie ihren Namen für berufliche Angelegenheiten in Steinway. Privat behielt die Familie bis 1864 den Namen Steinweg. Die Nachfrage nach den Steinway-Instrumenten nahm schnell solche Ausmaße an, dass die Familie mit ihren Werk- und Verkaufsstätten zunehmend an ihre Kapazitätsgrenze geriet. Es entstand die Idee, alle Produktionsstätten in einer großen Fabrik zusammenzuführen und die Arbeitsabläufe zu industrialisieren. Die Fabrik wurde 1860 fertiggestellt und 400 Klavierbauer produzierten so 1600 Instrumente pro Jahr.“ |
