This is a photograph of an architectural monument.
It is on the list of cultural monuments of Glückstadt, no. 3028. Glückstadt (Schleswig-Holstein) – Am Hafen 11 a / Gr. Deichstraße 18 – Gasthaus "Alte Oper" – Baujahr: ab 1620 – Das Gasthaus "Alte Oper“ steht an der Ecke zur Großen Deichstraße, wo sich auch der Eingang befindet. Das Eckhaus wurde um das Jahr 1620 errichtet. Es war ursprünglich ein zweigeschossiger Fachwerkbau, der im Spätbarock und im 20. Jahrhundert mit Ziegeln massiv erneuert wurde. Auf der Hafenseite wurde das Haus in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts verkürzt, um den Saalanbau zu ermöglichen, der rechts im Bild zu sehen ist. Der Saalbau besteht weiterhin aus Fachwerk. – Das Innere des Gebäudes zeigt die historischen Raumgliederungen und Konstruktionsformen. Durch eine Sanierung von 1981 bis 1984 konnten die Stuckdecke in der Weinstube aus der Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts sowie die barocke Treppe erhalten werden. – Das Haus war zunächst im Besitz führender Bürgerfamilien der Stadt. 1832 wurde die Ehefrau des Gastwirts Carl Friedrich von Buchwaldt Eigentümerin. Das Ehepaar erweiterte das Gebäude um den Saalbau und machte es zum „Ball und Komödienhaus“ und zum Clubhaus der Bürgergesellschaft Harmonie. Der Name „Alte Oper“ beruht auf einem Missverständnis. Hier wurde nie eine Oper aufgeführt. Heute beherbergt das Haus eine Gaststätte mit Bowlingbahn und Möglichkeiten für Veranstaltungen mit bis zu 250 Personen (Stand 2023). |
