Title
2309 Knife pommel.jpg
Description
English: A complete cast copper alloy knife pommel, probably dating to the late Medieval – early Post Medieval period, between AD 1350 – 1700 (length: 13.5mm; width: 19mm; thickness: 12mm; weight: 16.95g). This solid and heavy knife pommel is rectangular in plan and has an elongated hexagonal section. A slightly off-centre rectangular hole (8mm x 4.5mm, approximate depth: 11mm) inside the pommel for the tang of the knife to attach into. There is no other decoration on the artefact, which is in a good but fairly worn condition with a dark green patina.
