Description
English: Copper alloy Book clasp, length 59mm, width 30mm, thickness >1mm, weight 8.08g. This example is rectangular in plan, with a rectangular hook on the forward edge, two sets of concentric rings, both with a rivet hole in the centre, there is a third rivet hole towards the front. Five rows of three stamped fleur-de-lis run down the length of the top. This artefact is heavily corroded.

Artefacts such as this have been discovered during excavation to predominately date to the 15th and 16th centuries such as the examples found in York (Ottaway & Rogers, 2002, 2937-2939)
