Summary
[edit]Description218x to Ashton - geograph.org.uk - 1757123.jpg |
English: 218x to Ashton. A Greater Manchester Transport bus (reg. LNA 293G) stands on Piccadilly adjacent to the junction with Lever Street. A number of changes seem to have happened since this photo was taken. The grey building behind the bus has been demolished. The corner building on the opposite side of Lever Street has been rebuilt and the bank beyond has had its statues cleaned.
The bus is a Daimler Fleetline with Park Royal bodywork and is of a type introduced to the travelling public as the 'Mancunian' in the early 1970's. The design draws heavily on the 'Londoner' introduced earlier by London Transport - see 859138 for an example - and also bodied by Park Royal |
