Description |
English: Cast copper alloy spoon bowl length 56mm, width 44mm, thickness 5mm, weight 18.68g. The bowl corresponds with fig shaped (Ward Perkins, 1967), the bowl is narrow at the point where it attached to the stem, and expands towards the forward edge which is rounded. The forward edge of the bowl and some of the sides have been truncated by corrosion.
A makers mark of a shield containing IW is stamped just below that stem on the top side of the bowl. The shape of the bowl is know from the 15th to 17th century |
