Description
Deutsch: Der für die Bartholomäuskappelle der Stiftskirche in Bad Gandersheim 1520 geschaffene Bartholomäusalter ist der einzige mittelalterliche Altar der Stiftskirche, der die Zerstörung der Altäre durch die Bauern im Jahr 1543 überstand. Er wird heute im Museum Brunshausen gezeigt. Der namensgebende Heilige Bartholomäus wird flankiert von vier heiligen Jungfrauen, von links nach rechts, Barbara mit Hostienkelch und Turm, Margareta auf einem Drachen, Katharina (vielleicht) mit einem Rad und Dorothea mit einem Blumenkörbchen. Auf den Flügelinnenseiten des Altars findet sich links eine Darstellung der Heiligen Anna selbdritt, rechts eine Bild des Heiligen Matthias. Die Skulpturen werden dem "Epiphanusmeister", die Tafelbilder dem "Meister des Altars von Eime" zugeschrieben.
