| Description |
English: The Regiment Commander of Army Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army, joined the 7th Field Artillery (STEEL RAIN) Battalion on 14 May 2022 for the conduct of Functional and Registration fire of the newly repaired five (5) M71 155mm in Barangay Kamasi, Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
It could be recalled that all Platoons of Alpha Battery, 7FAB, AAR with its Howitzers were consolidated in Davao City for the comprehensive maintenance and repair. Functional live fire exercise is conducted to test the Guns' serviceability, reliability, and accuracy. While a registration fire is performed to determine the firing data corrections for the cumulative effects of all nonstandard conditions. These corrections are then applied to firing data in order for the firing Platoon to rapidly, accurately, and successfully engage any Target within the range of their Cannons and have a first-round Fire for effect capability. The Functional and Registration Fire is also the sixth (6) Live Fire Exercise of 7FAB, AAR, PA. Relatedly, While the registration fire was on going, a tree planting Activity with the Barangay Officials of Brgy Kamasi, Ampatuan, Maguindanao was simultaneously happening. Parents and Teachers of Kamsi Elementary School, PNP Personnel of Ampatuan MPS, Personnel of 6FAB and 601BDE also joined the activity. |
