Summary
[edit]Description2021 Queen Creek Historic Town Hall, Schnepf Fountain decoration 3.jpg |
English: The Queen Creek Historic Town Hall at 22350 South Ellsworth Road at East Aldecoa Drive in Queen Creek, Arizona, was built from 1951 to 1952 as a meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LDS ceased to use it in March 1989, and the voter of the town authorized its purchase to use as the Town Hall in November 1990, and the deed was signed in February 1991. (Description source: Historical sign on site and San Tan Historical Society) Behind the Town Hall, to the west, is a building which houses other town offices The Ray Schnepf Memorial Fountain sits in the front of the town hall building, south of the main entrance. Ir was donated to the town by friends and family of Schnepf, a former mayor and prominent farmer who died in 1995. He was the owner of Schnepf Farms, which is still in operation. The fountain is decorated with three drawing of things important in Schnepf's life: a potato, two stalks of wheat, and an airplane. |
