Summary
[edit]Description2021 Old Post Office, Washington DC.jpg |
English: The Old Post Office, located at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. was built from 1892 to 1899 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style and was designed by Willoughby J. Edbrooke. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of the Pennsylvania Avenue National Historic District. The building was Washington's General Post Office until 1914, at which time it became primarily a federal office building. Nearly demolished several times in its history, it was renovated in 1976 and 1983. In 2013 it was leased for 60 years, becoming the Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C., which opened in September 2016. |
