Description
English: The Beulah Baptist Church at 320 South Washington Street between Duke and Wolfe Streets in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, was founded in 1863 by freed slaves. It was an outgrowth of the First Select Colored School, which was founded in 1861, after the occupation of Alexandria by the Union Army during the Civil War. (Description source: Church website) A plaque on the church indicates that it was rebuilt in 1950.
