English: W poniedziałek (16.08) białostoczanie uczcili pamięć ofiar powstania w getcie. 78 lat temu hitlerowscy okupanci zaczęli ostateczną akcję likwidacyjną żydowskiej społeczności. Odpowiedzią Żydów był wybuch powstania, któremu przewodzili Daniel Moszkiewicz i Mordechaj Tenenbaum. Na Placu imienia drugiego z dowódców, przed pomnikiem Bohaterów Getta, odbyły się główne uroczystości rocznicowe. Wziął w nich udział wojewoda podlaski Bohdan Paszkowski. Wcześniej wicewojewoda Tomasz Madras złożył kwiaty pod Pomnikiem Wielkiej Synagogi oraz pod tablicą upamiętniającą Icchoka Malmeda.
Główne uroczystości rozpoczęły się w południe przy Pomniku Obrońców Getta na Placu Mordechaja Tenenbauma. Oprócz mieszkańców Białegostoku wzięli w nich udział przedstawiciele duchowieństwa, władz samorządowych, przedstawiciel Ambasady Republiki Federalnej Niemiec Robert von Rimscha, białostoccy honorowi konsule Rumunii i Finlandii, przedstawiciele gmin wyznaniowych oraz organizacji i stowarzyszeń żydowskich. Nie zabrakło także żołnierzy i funkcjonariuszy Białostockiego Garnizonu, przedstawicieli służb mundurowych, kombatantów. |
