Summary
[edit]Description2020 Proportional Representation Results.svg |
English: What the electoral college map of the 2020 presidential election would look like if each state delegated its electoral votes by matching up the percentage of the vote a candidate received in the state proportionally with how many electoral votes that state has. States with an even amount of electoral votes will give the majority of their votes to the candidate who won that state, even if their margin of victory was very small (i.e. in Georgia, Biden would receive 9/16 votes, despite only having a 0.24-point margin of victory in the state). Furthermore, states with less electoral votes will have somewhat distorted vote allocations, like in New Hampshire, where Trump received 45.36% of the state's vote (to Biden's 52.71%), but would only win 1 of New Hampshire's 4 votes under this system. |
