Payette National Forest watershed and fisheries personnel on the Council Ranger District assisted with excavation work done at the East Fork Ditch on the East Fork Weiser River. Before this work could be done, however, electrofishing - in which an electrical current is run through the water temporarily stunning fish - was done to ensure that no fish or other aquatic organisms were present in the worksite . This was crucial as the area is home to the bull trout, a threatened species on the Forest. This photo depicts the electrofishing that was completed on the stream, July 29, 2020.
