Description
Deutsch: Moritzburg, Hohberg: Ein Herrensitz wird um 1294 genannt, somit ist von einer Erbauung der Hohburg, Hohe Burg, in der zweiten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts zu folgern. Zu finden ist die Hohburg im Forst linksseits vom Schloss auf einer Syenitkuppe. Erhalten sind das Burgplateau und Wall- und Grabenreste. Die Burgruine wurde abgetragen und das Material für den Bau von Bruchsteinmauern eingesetzt. Der 4x5 Meter und cirka 120 Meter lange Tunnel unter dem Burgplateau und wurde anfangs des 18. Jahrhunderts auf Anordnung des Sächsischen Kurfürsten durch den Felsen getrieben und bei höfischen Festen mit der Kutsche durchfahren. In Jahr 1966 wurde die Hohburg als Bodendenkmal anerkannt.
