Summary

[edit]
Description
English: c/n 98001.

This is the first prototype Mosquito, and is one of the most important and significant historic airframes in existence worldwide. She first flew on 25th November 1940 and over her career with de Havilland she was much modified as a test and development aircraft. She also carried the British B-Class identity ‘EO234’. Retired in 1947, she was nearly scrapped before thankfully being rescued. After being stored (hidden!) in various places, she moved back to Salisbury Hall in 1959 and has been on display there ever since. She has recently been completely restored to a historically accurate condition and painted in an appropriate colour scheme. She shares the hangar with two other Mosquitos, FB.VI ‘TA122’ and B.35 ‘TA634’. de Havilland Aircraft Museum, Salisbury Hall, London Colney, UK.
